Argenta creates the new XS product line, thinner, lighter and more sustainable

The thicknesses of the ceramic pieces in Argenta’s new product line have been optimised to measurements of less than 7 millimetres, while maintaining the same technical and aesthetic performance. This sustainable solution is the result of Argenta’s efforts in its commitment to preserve the natural and immediate environment.

In this line, Argenta Cerámica is firmly committed to the development of ceramic tiles with reduced thickness, called XS, while maintaining the same technical performance as conventional ceramic tiles.

The notable reduction in the thickness of the pieces by approximately 40% leads to a reduction in the consumption of raw materials such as clays and minerals, as well as the water and energy needed to manufacture them, which significantly improves the efficiency of resources in the production process and means a reduction in the generation of waste.

Production

It involves a substantial reduction in CO2 emissions in the manufacture of the material itself. We are talking about a 50% reduction in pollutants such as SO2 (Sulphur) or VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds).

Logistics

Thanks to R&D studies we are able to generate better cost efficiency throughout the logistics process. This is due to the reduced weight and space taken up by the new XS light ceramic pieces, allowing a load saving of up to 40% in each trip, being able to load more in the same space. In addition, an exhaustive study of each format has been carried out to achieve a safe pallet that allows loads to be reassembled and does not hinder their transport.
